ICE WATCH: Olafur Eliasson’s take on climate change

One hundred tons of ice, set in 12 blocks around a circle, melt on Copenhagen’s City Hall Square. “A physical wake-up call” that draws attention and promotes debate on climate change, presented to coincide with the Fifth Assessment Report by the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). ICE WATCH is a collaboration between artist Olafur Eliasson and geologist Minik Rosing, and was on display from 26th to 29th October, 2014.

Eliasson is known for installations such as The Weather Project (2003), The New York City Waterfalls (2008) and Your Split Second House (2010).
